Feature

Team Sync

When a team holds multiple phones, Spotix keeps them all in sync. Navigation, answers, and scoring in real time. Or turn it off and send scouts to different stations.

What happens when a team has multiple phones?

In group activities, several people hold phones. Spotix ensures everyone is always in the same place — and that scoring is counted only once. You can also turn it off and let each device explore independently.

Shared Navigation

Always together

When a team member navigates to a station, all other devices follow automatically. No confusion about who leads.

Independent

Send scouts — each device to a different station

When sync is off, each team member explores independently. A popular strategy: split up, cover more ground, and finish faster.

Fair Scoring

Fair scoring — no duplicates

Two devices answered the same question? Score counted once. The first to tap wins — the second sees the correct answer automatically.

Sync works with all tour types — linear, open, and spatial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does device sync work offline?

Team sync requires an internet connection to push navigation state between devices. When a device loses signal it continues independently and syncs automatically when reconnected, receiving the team's current position. Offline playback of content, questions, and media still works normally.

Does team sync need to be enabled by the creator?

Team sync is on by default in every Spotix tour. Creators can disable it in the tour settings to switch to independent mode, where each device explores at its own pace. No player action is needed to activate it.

What happens when two devices answer the same question at the same time?

The first answer wins. The score is counted once, and the second device immediately sees the correct answer displayed automatically. A toast notification — 'a teammate answered first' — appears to avoid confusion.

Can teams mix independent and synced modes during the same tour?

Sync mode is set per tour before the activity starts and applies to all devices in that tour. You can run the same tour with sync enabled for some groups and disabled for others by using separate access codes with different settings.
